THE FASHION WORLD HELPS IN THE FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19

The fashion brands have also taken steps against fighting the coronavirus.

Ralph Lauren Corporate Foundation will be donating $10 million to coronavirus relief efforts, Ralph Lauren also announced on  Instagram, adding that the brand is also starting the production of “250,000 masks and 25,000 isolation gowns.

Christian Siriano the fashion designer revealed that he and his team “made 1,000 masks in three days to help with the shortage for medical workers.

 

Luxury goods company LVMH, which owns some of the biggest fashion houses including Louis Vuitton, Dior and Givenchy, announced that they would dedicate their fragrance facilities in France to making free hand sanitizer for public health officials in Paris.

Balenciaga and YSL are coming together to make masks. According to The Kering Group, who own both French labels.

Armani has announced that they will begin to manufacture single-use medical overalls for healthcare workers helping to combat the coronavirus pandemic. The Italian label has also since donated 1.25 million euros to hospitals and health organizations.

Brandon Maxwell the New York City-based designer revealed that he would be shifting clothing production towards making hospital gowns for “doctors and nurses on the front.

Donatella Versace and her daughter Allegra Versace Beck have donated 200,000 euros to the intensive care department of San Raffaele hospital in Milan in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

Gucci has donated 1 million euros to the Italian Civil Protection Department and the World health organization.
